QualityEngineering

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

THE WHAT
You define and implement quality assurance measures across the entire product lifecycle, from development and supplier management to serial production. You translate requirements into robust process controls, ensure quality standards are effectively implemented on the shop floor, and drive sustainable improvements through data-driven quality management.
THE WHY
To end COPV failure in spaceflight. Every component we deliver must perform flawlessly under extreme conditions — in the air, in orbit, and beyond. This role ensures that quality is built into our products and processes from the beginning, enabling us to turn innovative engineering into flight-ready, reliable hardware.
YOUR IMPACT

You don't just identify quality issues. You build the systems that prevent them.

You ensure:
  • quality requirements are translated into effective controls across development and production
  • quality-relevant process steps are clearly defined, understood, and consistently executed
  • non-conformities are resolved through structured root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions
  • quality risks and process deviations are identified early through data-driven decision-making
  • quality performance continuously improves through robust standards, audits, and process improvements
Your tasks in detail and by priority:

Develop and implement quality assurance measures throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring quality gates, risk controls, and verification activities are embedded into development and production processes.
→ Accountability: Build quality into the process, not after the fact.

Work closely with production teams to ensure quality-relevant process steps are clearly defined, understood, and consistently executed across all production stations.
→ Togetherness: Quality succeeds when engineering, manufacturing, and quality work as one.

Evaluate and support changes to products and processes, ensuring quality requirements are considered and successfully incorporated into approvals and implementation activities.
→ High Performance: Maintain quality standards while enabling progress.

Analyze quality deviations using structured methods such as 8D, Ishikawa, or 5-Why, derive sustainable corrective actions, and ensure their implementation.
→ Candor: Solve the real cause, not just the visible symptom.

Monitor quality indicators, audit findings, and non-conformities to identify opportunities for improvement and continuously strengthen quality processes and standards.
→ Playfulness: Stay curious. Every issue is an opportunity to improve.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, process risks, and implementation of quality controls.
  • High attention to detail, structured documentation practices, and the ability to derive improvements from quality data.
  • Fluent English and willingness to work predominantly on-site; experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Nice to have
  • Knowledge of quality standards, compliance requirements, and practical experience with ISO 9001.
  • German language skills and experience in aerospace, hardware, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
